Over the past two weeks Budapest has been thriving with excitement from hosting the 2017 FINA World Championships.

The Champs kicked off with the diving and Funkita F-Teamers Anabelle Smith and Melissa Wu represented Australia along with the Diving Australia squad in their custom-made Funky Trunks and Funkita swimwear. The highlight for Australia was Maddison Keeney's gold medal performance in the 1-metre springboard conquering her nerves, for the biggest win of her diving career. Her incredible efforts were anxiously watched back home and in the stands by spectators cheering her final dive, which scored 314.95 over Russian silver medallist, Nadezhda Bazhina who scored 304.70.

Anabelle Smith placed 11th in the finals of the 3-metre springboard and then just missed out on a medal, placing 4th with Maddison in the 3-metre springboard synchro. Anabelle will be straight back into training when she returns home to prepare for the International Grand Prix, held on the Gold Coast in November, followed by the 2018 Commonwealth Games Trials in December.

Diving Australia teammate and Funkita athlete, Melissa Wu, also narrowly missed a spot on the podium, placing 5th in the 10-metre platform. Melissa also competed with her synchronised diving partner, Domonic Bedggood in the mixed platform synchro finishing 7th in their matching Funky Trunks and Funkita suits. The 3 time Olympian also won't be resting as she heads straight to a training camp in Australia for her upcoming competitions, including the Commonwealth Games Trials.
